The company is seeking a Director of Marketing to run all of marketing for all Tonic/Greendimes products.
Description:
The Director of Marketing will lead the strategy, development, and execution of all new customer awareness, acquisition, and engagement marketing initiatives for all current and future Tonic products. The position will have ownership of a broad range of acquisition efforts supporting all long term business objectives, managing all advertising and communications programs starting from initial pre-sale awareness through customer conversion, engagement, and merchandising. This position will own creative development, agency management, customer research, and all online and offline programs, and will be responsible for managing a budget and setting and hitting quarterly customer acquisition and upgrade goals. The person in this position should be very results-driven and hands-on, have a high degree of energy, enjoy being focused on both strategic and operational excellence, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Test and optimize current customer acquisition channels, including SEM, PPC, SEO, affiliates, affinity group outreach, and SMM.
- Create, test, and explore creative new acquisition channels.
- Work with the product and operations teams to improve customer conversion rates at all stages of the customer funnel.
- Own all customer communications via the site and email.
- Own all merchandising efforts, and all upgrade/upsell offers.
- Own an annual budget, set and manage to quarterly forecasts and goals, and manage all reporting against those goals.
Experience Required/Qualifications & Skills:
- 5+ years consumer marketing experience, with 2-3 years of experience in developing and executing online direct marketing programs (SEM, SEO, PPC, Affiliates) focusing on customer awareness and acquisition
- Experience in ecommerce and/or consumer subscription services a big plus
- 2+ years managing customer email campaigns and working with external email vendors
- Extreme focus on numbers and results, strong analytical capabilities, the ability to think both strategically and tactically, and excellent general business acumen and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, passionate startup environment
- BA/BS in a marketing, business-related, or engineering field required, MBA preferred
- Sense of humor absolutely required

The company is seeking a professional to own and drive the Tonic merchandise businesses.
The Director, Tonic Merchandise is expected to:
- Grow the Tonic Merchandise business by setting and owning online and wholesale targets and working with the product, marketing, and operations teams to drive product strategy, innovation, and marketing programs
- Establish and manage a strong product development processes together with the engineering team, including ownership of product design, planning, and management (e.g. PRDs, wireframes, UI specs)
- Monitor financial and non-financial key performance indicators, and regularly report to staff on trends that affect performance
- Launch and manage distribution partnerships with retail and online stores, and sourcing relationships with other product suppliers, including affiliate-style relationships
Required experience and knowledge:
- Minimum of 3 years driving and growing an online ecommerce site, and/or 5 years as a successful product manager or marketer for an ecommerce site
- Experience supplying product into physical retail stores a big plus
- Demonstrated success defining and launching products and regularly achieving business metrics
- Comfortable writing product management specifications to be used to guide engineering team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work in a dynamic start up environment and be responsible for multiple roles; system admin, network administrator, IT support
- Be responsible for all company servers, ensuring 24x7 site operation.
- Perform standard administration tasks (creating, deleting users and such)
- Help configure and manage production equipment, and assist in troubleshooting production problems and network devices
- Install, configure and troubleshoot Linux servers, Apache, XP desktops and Mac OS X, as well as Windows applications (like MS exchange)
- Monitor system availability and performance; weblog reporting; Sendmail activity
- Develop tools to monitor and maintain systems
- Help design and scale systems to meet demand
Required Experience and Knowledge:
- 3 - 5 years system administration experience; Linux and NT Admin; experience with LAMP/UNIX/Apache
- Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; can configure NFS and NIS; can use nslookup to check information in the DNS; understands basic routing concepts
- Be comfortable with all aspects of operating system administration: outlook (exchange) systems, printer systems, the fundamentals of security, system installation and configuration, and installing third-party software.
- Server deployment and active load balancing configurations; Server level security and permission administration.
- Support performance tuning and threshold monitoring.
- Experience writing scripts in some administrative languages (Tk, Ruby, VBScript, a shell). Python a definite plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skill; able to communicate and manage data center location.
- Able to work in a dynamic start up and have the foresight and skills to help a rapidly growing company plan for the future.
